Introduction

This blogpost aims to be a straightforward walkthrough to setting up a Linux system that looks and feels modern with the least amount of effort possible.
When most people think of a Linux computer the first thing that comes to mind is outdated looking interfaces like this one.

But with just a bit of effort, your Linux desktop can look even more modern than Windows or MacOS.

Concepts

Before proceeding with the installation, I will explain some terms so you have at least some basic understanding of what we are doing.

Initial Setup

First we need to pick a flavor of Linux. For this guide we will use Archlinux with Archinstall.
  1. Download the Archlinux ISO
  1. Download Balena Etcher
  1. Insert an USB drive and flash the Arch ISO using Balena Etcher
  1. Follow this Archinstall guide

Customization

You can either:
  1. Use Hyprdots
  1. Use someone elses dotfiles
  1. Customize it yourself

    1. Install Nvchad
